If you spend any amount of time online, you will have noticed by now that online video popularity is on the rise. YouTube is one of the favorite social media platforms for the younger generations, Facebook has started a TV channel, and marketers are using more and more video in their campaigns each year. VidCon, coming up from June 20 - 23 at the Anaheim Convention Center is the place to be for all things online video.
Who can go to VidCon?
One of the great things about this convention is that there are tracks for all different groups—not just industry professionals. The Community Track is for fans of online video. They are here to have fun, make friends, and be entertained by their favorite online video personalities.
The Creator Track is for people who are trying to “make it” as a professional in the world of online video. They want to create quality content for a larger audience. On this track, they will participate in workshops, mentorship sessions, and other activities allowing them to learn from some of the most successful people in the industry.
The Industry Track is designed for corporations, brands, and tech companies who are using online video to build their business. It includes keynote speakers, fireside chats, seminars, case studies, and product demos. Industry professionals will get advice on utilizing today’s technology as well as strategic insight into what’s to come with online video and the media industry.
Parents and Chaperones are Welcomed
Online video is one of the most popular forms of entertainment for kids starting at a very young age, so it’s no wonder that some of them would ask to go to VidCon. Children who are under the age of 13 must be chaperoned by an adult at all times, and the chaperone will need to purchase the same badge type as the person they are chaperoning.
If the child is over 13 then the chaperone does not need to be with them all the time. As long as the adult is okay with it, teens are welcomed to attend the event and the chaperone can wait in the Parent’s Lounge located in the Registration Hall without having to buy a ticket.

Don’t Hassle with Parking
This is going to be a very popular event so keep in mind the parking structure at the Convention Center will be very full.
